The Year so far !!


The following are the events that have been conducted so far in this academic year.

A)

Event Name : Press Conference
Main Event  : Parichay

Date             : 17/07/2010

Description  : Teams had to address a press conference on a topic given to them on the spot.They also had to face a series of questions directed at them by co-participants who were acting like journalists.

Event Name : HR Connect

Main Event  : Augustus

Date             : 10/08/2010

Description  : The Event was a guest Lecture by Mrs.Seema Saxena for students who were willing to take up HR profession or had any doubts regarding the same.Seema Saxena has 25 years of experience as HR corporate head and manager.

Event Name : Pankh

Main Event  : HRuday Main Event

Date             : 28/08/2010

Description  : Pankh is a national level "Best Summer HR Project" contest.It was sponsored by Videocon.26 entries were received for the preliminary round of selection. The entries were reviewed by a selection panel comprised of both second year HR students and faculty. The entries were
reviewed on the basis of following criteria
1) clarity of objective
2) Practicality
3) Presentation
4) Innovation
For the final round of presentation, 9 entries were selected.

Event Name : Drishtikone

Main Event  : Standalone

Date             : 21/09/2010

Description  : A session was taken by second year students of HRuday team to prepare the juniors for their summer placements specific to HR roles.The session was based on the following guidelines:
(1) A brief on HR placements
(2) What are the questions asked and probable questions, most acceptable answers to those.
(3) Some dos and don'ts in GD and interviews
(4) Those HR questions already circulated to them a brief on that.
(5) What type of preparation and knowledge expected from them
(6) Sources need to be refer for preparation
(7) What a HR during interview expects?
(8) Interview experience of students selected in summers last year for HR profiles.

Event Participation : 38 Students

HR as a Focus Program at NMIMS



HR will now be a focus program at NMIMS starting 2011.The same has been mentioned in the admission form for next year. The USP of the program lies in its design and delivery of core courses, sector specific inputs, skill building workshops and tie-up with professional forums.

Some of the Program features:

  • Full time for two years comprising 41 courses across six trimesters.

  • Workshop in each trimester focusing on HR trends in sectors such as Manufacturing, BFSI, Retail, IT etc and inputs on HR practices are highlighted through a series of guest sessions, project work and seminars. Seminars in this category are compulsory and non credit.

  • The program includes summer internship for 8-10 weeks in which students undergo full time intensive training with industry under the guidance of a project guide and a faculty guide.

  • Consulting assignments for students from different companies in the area of HR.

  • Students will benefit from institutional tie ups with renowned professional HR-focused bodies
